Are you there readers? It's me, pinkjaguar12

My dear readers, are you even reading this?  Are you even listening to me at all?  I want to ask something of you.  You can enjoy my life, but in return, can you please leave a comment behind?  For I feel very alone in this world without comments to look over and smile at.

Please go Beyond the Usual and leave a comment.

Argument Clinic

This is definitely a very funny and Unusual video.  It is by Monty Python and the Flying Circus, but then again, almost all their stuff is funny and Unusual, now isn't it?

Any Last Words?

My school starts on Wednesday, and even though it is the latest any schools around here have opened, it still feels a little Unusual going back to school.  I have been enjoying the freedoms of summer so much.  But, then again, I will have my friends to look forward to.  And my school isn't a horrid place where students never return from.  It's fun and open and I love going there.

So, I guess my "last words" would probably be this: I wish that I could have had two more weeks to do something Unusual.  To do something more fun then just hang out at the mall.  But Now I have lost that chance, and I won't get it again until next year.  However, there is winter break to look forward to!

Smile when facing school, and go Beyond the Usual!

To Alexa

Now that I have told you about my book, let me share how I got this idea.

Alexa is the typical mean girl you think of when I say the words fashion, blonde, egotistic, and the b-word.

So why on earth would I be dedicating my book to her?

Here's why: she gave me the idea for it.  Yep, that's right, Alexa, the most snooty girl ever to walk my school hallways, gave me the idea for a book I hope one day to be as popular as Harry Potter.  It all started like this:

I was taking a "Conceptual Physics" course in my freshman year of high school.  We were discussing philosophers, and how different ones viewed the world different ways.  A few philosophers had the idea that all humans were made of one of the four elements.  One guy thought we were made of water, because of our watery blood.  One guy thought fire, because we are always so warm (well, most of the time).  Anyway, Alexa had this boyfriend named Nick, and she took these things and said, and I quote (as best that I can, it was so long ago):

"Ha, that would be so cool if, like, I was a water child, and Nick was, like, a fire child, so we would totally be all 'hisssssss' and steamy."

I took it as one of her little she-thinks-it's-flirtatious-but-it-is-just-really-annoying things and was about to move on, when what she said caught my mind.  On the back of my notes page for class (and I hope to have that thing be worth over a thousand dollars someday) I scribbled a little note to myself: "Elemental School: Write!"

What came after that was such a big thing that I just had to dedicate my book to Alexa: the girl who gave me the idea that changed my life.

By the way, I told her this info around May.  She looked at me like I was crazy, stopped as her small little brain processed what a book dedication was, and finally just nodded and gave me a tiny smile, like she understood that because of me, her name was gonna go up in lights.  She hasn't been mean to anyone since.

A bit Beyond the Usual for her, don't you think?

Elementals

So, some of you may be wondering: if I love writing so much, what have I written?  I have made a brief mention about this in the About Me section, but here it is:

I am writing a fantasy novel.  I started around early October of 2009, and it flourished from there.  The story (so far, I make major changes to it every once in a while) is about the six elements: Earth, Air, Water, Fire, Light, and Darkness.  These elements have human children, children that inherit skills from their elemental parent.  All the children are able to control their element, but there are other skills too.  Mel, the daughter of Fire, is an excellent fighter with a fierce soul (just like Fire could take down even the largest of cities).  Stella, the daughter of Light, is very social and friendly.  She is welcoming of all things (just like Light reaches out and touches all things on the planet).  The skills each child has continues in this manner.

The storyline consists of each one of these children receiving the same prophecy, which instructs them to travel to a certain meeting place and face an evil that threatens to destroy the world.  A bit cliche, but there are many twists and turns to it as well.  The prophecy foretells the group's struggles, someone's death, and even worse: A betrayal by the hands of a friend.

All in all, it's a very complex tapestry that I haven't even begun to weave yet.  I have written intros and fights and anything that pops into my mind.  But if I have something I wanna share, I'll share it here!

Don't be afraid to go a little Beyond the Usual!

A Fresh Slate

My very first blog.  Ever.  I think it'll be nice to have some place to share your thoughts, post interesting stuff, communicate with others.

So, this blog is about my life and the unusual things that happen in it, from visiting relatives to vacations in Hawaii to just some family time that seemed a bit unusual.

So, here we are!  Ready to start this blog with a smile.

Never forget to go a little Beyond the Usual!
